This past weekend, our Shoot for Greatness students had an unforgettable hands-on experience at the Chosen Sports Leagues Championship Games, held at Liberty High School gymnasium in Brentwood, CA.
Alongside program leaders Sarena and Christopher, students stepped into the fast-paced world of sports media — photographing and filming the event as the action unfolded. The championship atmosphere was electric: players fought hard for gold rings and trophies, emotions ran high, and every moment demanded focus and creativity.
Armed with cameras and growing confidence, students learned to adapt quickly in a live environment — capturing fast breaks, celebratory cheers, and the intensity of competition. This real-world project taught them valuable lessons in media production, storytelling, and professionalism that can’t be replicated in a classroom alone.
Most importantly, students walked away proud, inspired, and motivated to continue sharpening their skills — proof that when youth are given opportunities to create, they rise to the challenge and shoot for greatness.
We’re always looking to partner with local businesses and organizations to bring in meaningful projects that give our students real-world experience. If you’d like to collaborate and help inspire the next generation of media creators, please reach out — together, we can create opportunities that make a lasting impact.
